Q.I have tried to create new categories, but they
never show up in the drop down of a new task.
Now I can't create a new
task because it says I have no categories.
A.
It's possible that you missed a step after you created
a category. One common mistake is not to allow the new
category you created as a subcategory for other
categories. So, so do this, select the parent
category [in other words, the category where you
want to create these types of new categories that
you just created], and then select the edit
tab, and then select the new category you created as
a category Can contains as subtasks. Save this,
and then you select the parent
category, this new subcategory should appear.
For example, let's assume that you created a new
category called Defect. And you wanted to allow
defects to be created under the category of project.
So, after you create the category Defect, and
create and assign a workflow to it, then select the
category Project, and allow subcategory Defect.
Select Save. Now, you should be able to
go to an existing task of category project, and
you'll see Defect now appears in category
drop down box.
